## What DomainCal Does

DomainCal solves the problem of forgetting when domain names expire. Users add domains they own, and DomainCal:

1. **Fetches WHOIS data** to discover the authoritative expiry date for each domain
2. **Tracks expiry dates** in a dashboard showing days remaining until expiration
3. **Sends email alerts** at strategic intervals: 7 days, 1 day, and on the expiry day itself
4. **Supports bulk imports** via CSV upload for users with large domain portfolios

## User Flow

1. User lands on the site and sees a landing page explaining the service
2. Unauthenticated users can add domains (stored locally) or sign up
3. Authenticated users see their domain dashboard with all tracked domains
4. System fetches WHOIS data and displays expiry dates
5. Email alerts fire automatically as domains approach expiration
6. Users can refresh individual domains to get updated WHOIS data (24-hour cooldown between refreshes)

## Limitations

- Maximum 20 domains per submission
- WHOIS refresh limited to once per 24 hours per domain
- Email verification required for new accounts
- Alerts processed once daily at 3 PM UTC
